Dashboards
Dashboards are the homepage of Open-AudIT — the first thing you see when you log in. They're made up of widgets that give you a quick visual overview of your environment.
What Are Dashboards and Widgets?
A dashboard is a grid layout — currently three columns by two rows — filled with widgets. Each widget is essentially a visual representation of data: pie charts, line graphs, or tables showing the output of a summary query.
Think of it as a configurable at-a-glance view of whatever matters most to your team.
Dashboards and Widgets are found under Menu → Manage → Dashboards and Menu → Manage → Widgets.

Using the Default Dashboard
All editions of Open-AudIT come with a default dashboard that shows key summaries — device counts, recently seen devices, devices not seen in a while, and other useful snapshots.
Switching Dashboards (Professional and Enterprise)
On the top-right of the dashboard (just under the menu bar), you'll see buttons to:
- Select a different dashboard from the list
- Set the current dashboard as your personal homepage
- Edit the current dashboard (Enterprise only)
Creating a Custom Dashboard (Enterprise)
- Go to Menu → Manage → Dashboards → Create Dashboards
- Give the dashboard a name
- Optionally set Sidebar to
nif you want a cleaner, full-width layout without the sidebar - Save the dashboard, then add widgets to it
Creating a Widget (Enterprise)
- Go to Menu → Manage → Widgets → Create Widgets
- Choose a type (pie chart, line graph, etc.)
- Either select a pre-existing summary from the dropdown, or write your own SQL for complete control
- Assign the widget to a dashboard
Permissions
You need OrgAdmin or Admin role to create, edit, or delete dashboards and widgets. Any user can view them.
Personal Homepages
Every user can set their own homepage dashboard — you don't all have to share the same view. An admin might want to see a technical overview of network health, while a manager might prefer a software compliance summary. Each person sets their preference using the homepage button on the dashboard.
